A Case of Mistaken Age

People say that age is just a number,

But when you're mistaken for a kid, it's a bit of a bummer,

I'm now 23, but I look like 13,

A round, wholesome face, oh so serene.

Perks abound when you look like a kid,

Discounts on movies, toys, and some gigs,

But there are perils, too, you see,

Being talked down to like I'm only three.

I've been asked if I'm lost at the mall,

And if I need help to find my mom,

I've been offered snacks and seats on the bus,

And sometimes even a lollipop 🙂

It's a funny thing to be mistaken as a kid,

A light-hearted joke that I don't want to forbid,

But there are moments when I wish to be seen,

As the young adult that I truly have been.

So, I embrace my youthful appearance with glee,

And take life with a grain of humor, you see,

For when I'm older, I'll still have this face,

A bit of a perk, in any case.
